The rhythm of the waves in Placencia
A small town, located at the southern tip of the peninsula with the same name, with a beautiful beach that fringes the east side of the village. It feels as if time has a way of slowing down, and is determined by the rhythm of the waves. Tip: get an ice cream at Tutti Frutti.

Staying at Turtle Inn
This lovely place on the coast, just outside of Placencia, is a dream come true for director Francis Ford Coppola and his wife. The houses were designed in a Balinese style, and the Dutch general manager Martin and his team make every effort to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

On an inhabited island
This private island is located around 13 kilometres away from the coast of Placencia. A true paradise with two houses which have been nicely decorated, and can accommodate a maximum of 10 people. The island has a beach, a mangrove forest and is located between the mainland and the Belize Barrier Reef, which makes the waters around Coral Caye calm and perfect for snorkelling. You cannot ask for a better beach-side paradise.

Golf kart as means of transport
The Belize Cayes consists of more than 200 islands. Ambergris Caye, the biggest island, has a length of over 40 kilometres and can be divided into three parts; mangrove swamps, lagoons and sand. Special about this island: the golf kart and bike are the most common means of transport here.

Hopkins Bay
A village on one of the most beautiful beaches of Belize, where a colourful Garifuna community, descendants of African slaves, lives. Its colourful wooden houses, the relaxed atmosphere, the white coral sand and swaying palm trees, make this Caribbean through and through!
Undiscovered by mass tourism
Belize has the most beautiful beaches where you can dream of. Yet, it remains undiscovered by mass tourism, despite the fact that Belize actually has a perfect beach for everyone.
On the mainland, you can choose to stay at beautiful small-scale accommodations on the coast, where you can enjoy the comfort of your hotel in peace, but where it is also possible to put on your flip-flops and walk to the nearby village to soak in the daily life on the Caribbean coast, that is characterised by a pleasant and peaceful atmosphere. Villages such as Hopkins, Placencia and Dangriga are centres of the Garifuna community. These people are descendants of African slaves, who, during a shipwreck, managed to find the coast of Belize, Honduras and Nicaragua. There is a very relaxed atmosphere in these towns.
