City tour by bike
Would you like to explore Santiago in an active way? Get on a bike and let your guide take you through the city! Changing of the guard
In the centre of Santiago you will find the imposing government palace: Palacio de la Moneda. A beautiful building that is reminiscent of the colonial era and used to be the place where the Chilean coins were made. At 10 o'clock in the morning, the changing of the guard takes place here in a traditional way.

A nice neighbourhood in Santiago is Lastarria, close to the historic centre. This allows you to visit the highlights during the day and in the afternoon and evening you can enjoy everything the district of Lastarria has to offer. Are you a lover of gastronomy? Then make a guided tour of the city's various markets, such as Vega Central and Mercado Central, Santiago's most famous markets. Of course you can taste different, unknown kinds of fruit and vegetables, but also fish and seafood, which were caught earlier that day.

Visit the hill Cerro San Cristóbal in the centre for a beautiful view, where you can also see the highest peaks of the Andes. Let a cable lift take you to the viewpoint or go there by means of a challenging walk.
Santiago de Chile
Santiago, the capital of Chile, is located at an altitude of 522 metres and was founded by Pedro de Valdivia on February 12, 1541. Pedro de Valdivia chose this location because of the climate and the ease with which the city could be defended here. Santiago has a Mediterranean climate. Hot and dry in the summer, from November to March, with around 35°C. Winter, from June to August, is mild with a maximum of around 15°C.
