Sea turtles, sea lions, rays, sharks, seahorses and large schools of coloured fish are only a few examples of what you can see during an afternoon of snorkelling.

Diving is definitely worthwhile. It is possible to make a specific diving cruise, but it is also possible to add a day of diving to another cruise or during a stay ashore. We will be happy to inform you about the possibilities.

While snorkelling, or even walking on the beach, you have the chance to spot rays along the coast. There are different types of rays, such as the spotted eagle ray, the sting ray, golden ray and if you are at sea, you may even spot the giant, impressive manta ray.

Besides the giant tortoises on the mainland, the Galapagos is also home to several sea turtles. These are generally a little bit bigger than the sea turtles you can find somewhere else in the world. While snorkelling you can come face to face with these heavyweights.

From the top, red with yellow, this Sally Lightfoot crab is an iconic image on the black lava rocks near the sea. If you see this crab, you will be certain that you are on the Galapagos.

Swimming with sharks; it sounds very thrilling. However, most sharks are not dangerous. So are the sharks that you find near the coast of the islands. While snorkelling, you have the highest chance to encounter the whitetip reef shark. If you go diving, there are also places where you can swim with hammerhead sharks.
