Guatemala, the land of eternal spring is also called the land of volcanoes. It was great to walk over the solidified lava and to hear the rumbling of the volcano in the background.
Empanadas from Argentina, pão de queijo in Brazil and Peruvian ceviche. The gastronomy says a lot about a country and it is also a nice way to learn more about the culture of a country. Also when we talk about Guatemala.
"Guatemala and Belize are beautiful countries full of contrasts. And what a friendly, hospitable population. It was an unforgettable, perfectly organised trip."
I walk through the streets covered with cobblestones. I walk around the corner and stand opposite the big yellow 'Arco de Santa Catalina', with the Agua volcano in the background. This characteristic image proves that I am in Antigua.
My favourite places are those where you have the feeling that you are going back in time. The romance of the old plastered walls and the cobbled streets. I have put 5 of them in a row.
We had a fantastic trip to Guatemala and Belize. Everything was arranged excellently: all pick-ups were on time and the drivers were very friendly and informative.
