Think of the whale processing industry on South Georgia, the war between Argentina and England on the Falklands and various expeditions such as the discovery of Cape Horn by Schouten and Le Maire in search of a passage to Asia. Prior to the Antarctic season you can take two unique cruises along the Sub-Antarctic Islands in September and October.

On board the Magellan Explorer
Both routes are sailed by the Magellan Explorer, the newest cruise ship in Antarctica21. The Magellan Explorer is a new and modern expedition ship specially developed for expeditions to Antarctica and the sub Antarctic islands. The ship has capacity for 100 passengers and the cabins consist of 7 different categories. All cabins are equipped with a wardrobe, individually adjustable heating system, a seating area and a private bathroom with shower.
The ship is equipped with a glass-enclosed observation lounge and presentation room with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment where the guides on board give lectures and presentations. The dining room is spacious and stylish and has a well-stocked bar. There is a library, gym, sauna and medical room. For landings on Antarctica or the Sub Antarctic islands, the Magellan Explorer has 10 zodiacs.
